- Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Executive Director and head of Department of Banking Supervision, Khetarpaul was responsible for overseeing banks and financial institutions on ensuring regulatory compliance.
- A 37-year RBI veteran, he was closely associated with framing of those very regulatory and supervisory policies. Khetarpaul has served as nominee director on the board of several banks, and was also a trustee on the board of UTI.
- He has been a frequent participant at international conferences organised by multi-lateral institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF and also at central banks such as the Federal Reserve System of the United States.
