- Mr. Sharma is a Cost Accountant, Company Secretary and Law graduate by qualification.
- Mr. Sharma had varied experience in the Indian corporate sector spanning over 27 years from 1978. He worked with traditional Indian business houses as well as multinational companies, mainly in the fertilizer sector. His major accomplishments include implementation of mega sized projects, putting together management teams and financial structures for these ventures and setting up systems for running the businesses. He concluded more than a dozen international collaborations during his career.
- He set up Star Global Resources Ltd. in 2006 as an investment company which invests in diversified businesses after evaluating their long-term business potential.
- Along with Star Global Resources Ltd, he and his family members are significant investors in IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Pvt Limited (IKSPL), IFFCO Kisan Finance Ltd (IKFL) and SISCOL Ltd.
- Mr Sharma also serves as a director on the Boards of IKSPL and SISCOL Ltd and currently holds the position of Managing Director in IKFL.
